Arrest Him!

After impeaching him! Now!

Brattleboro’s Bush warrant irks wingnuts.   What’s the matter with these wingnuts? Jimmie at the Sundries Shack shares my enthusiasm for a Vermont war crimes tribunal, impeachment, etc.

I think the President should call their bluff.

Schedule a speech in Brattleboro for the day after the vote, walk down Main Street (or whatever the main drag in Brattleboro is called), and speak from the steps of Town Hall. Or perhaps in front of the police station.

As a throwaway line in the speech, he should note that if anything happens to him, Cheney’s in charge. That should go over splendidly.

I love the whines about “harassment”. What did you think was going to happen, you idiots?

As for the Chief of PO-LEESE going after the harassers - good luck with that, Barney.

“Any of you guys know anything about this?”

Yeah. They’re in violation of the U.S. Code

    “Section 2384. Seditious conspiracy ”

” If two or more persons in any State or Territory, or in any place
subject to the jurisdiction of the United States, conspire to
overthrow, put down, or to destroy by force the Government of the
United States, or to levy war against them, or to oppose by force
the authority thereof, or by force to prevent, hinder, or delay the
execution of any law of the United States, or by force to seize,
take, or possess any property of the United States contrary to the
authority thereof, they shall each be fined under this title or
imprisoned not more than twenty years, or both.”

Conspiring to arrest or detain a government official when you have no legal authority to do so is a felony under federal law.

Here’s the Rutland Herald weighing in:
    http://www.rutlandherald.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20080130/NEWS04/801300405/1003/NEWS02

I love this part (Attack of the Robot Terminator Wingnuts): “Town Clerk Annette Cappy said the calls still were coming in at her office, and some of it was apparently computerized.

She said her office received about five calls from the same mechanical voice, asking: “Why do you hate America? Why do you hate freedom? Why do you hate our commander in chief?”

“There’s no one there — it’s spooky,” Cappy said. She said the staff was hanging up on the calls.”

    It’s spooky!

(Looks like Brattleboro police are hot on the trail!)

I have to go with Jimmie and Jules. Impeachment? Hell, yeah, go for it, Dhimmis! The entertainment value will be miles above the Clinton/Obama slapfest going on right now, and like Jimmie says, Democratic power will be finished forever, possibly making room for a viable opposition party that can set the Republicans back on track.

And in more news from the “Green Mountain People’s Republic”: Vermont legislators want to bring home the VT National Guard from Iraq right now: http://www.burlingtonfreepress.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=2008801300308

The urgency? - According to the article, “about 25 Vermont National Guardsmen are serving in Iraq.”

    Vermont?

    Where is it?

OH wait I see it now, but I honestly though WE had given the damn place to Czar Vladimir as a gift.

With “Senators” the likes of a Leahy and a Sanders, it would certainly be Czar Vlad’s most precious gift.

Now all should know why Solzhenitsyn, decided to leave Vermontski, in 1990.

“Arrest Bush petition irks right-wing nuts”

That’s not a news headline, that’s editorializing, and it’s also biased beyond belief (well it would be beyond belief if everyone didn’t already know that the media was totally biased, and is essentially an arm of the Democrat Party and a platform to spew forth liberal political philosophy).

“A petition by 435 earnest Vermonters calling for the arrest of President Bush and Vice President Dick Cheney…”

Crap. They aren’t one bit earnest, and I know it, and you know it, and they know it. They aren’t going to arrest President Bush, and their call is pure political posturing.

And, that’s about as far as I can get into that op/ed piece masquerading as a news report as I can go without gagging.

This is typical “news” reporting. A never-ending stream of utterly biased editorializing (”right-wing nuts” as opposed to the “earnest” opposition) , peppered with statements that are obviously not true (in the proud tradition of guys like William Randolph Hearst and Walter Duranty) instead of a dispassionate presentation of factual information.

Judging by the use of the perjoratives, I suspect what the author of this piece means to say is is that Bush and Cheney ought to be impeached and arrested and that anyone who disagrees is a nut, and that the people who are presenting this petition are motivated by nothing but virtuous motives (like earnestness…even though they’re obviously not in earnest).

Conclusion: The media is crap, always has been crap, always will be crap.

There’s obviously a few exceptions (like the author of this blog), but for the most part, the media is as useless as tits on a boar.

Is there no one left who knows the first thing about civics? Do they even teach it anymore? This is like those cities who think they can come up with their own foreign policy and ignore the laws they don’t like. Oh, the arrogance of ignorance never fails.

    And they call us nuts.

  11. Dave Surls Says:

I was about to ask where saltydog was.

    Haven’t seen her around lately.
