Balancing Act
OK, there’s some on this side, some on the other:Â
Michael Graham at the Natural Truth with some thoughts on what McCain needs to do to win. He’ll need a woman and/or a minority, he needs to bring in a state or two, and he needs someone presidency-ready, or its over. I’d add that he’d better make that someone who appeals the paleo-cons and con-cons of all stripes, or its over.Â
Meanwhile, Vodkapundit takes a sober look at McCain, is afraid he’s a wackjob who shouldn’t be allowed to have his finger on the button, offers up his veep ideas. About that temper issue, I’d suggest the occasional outburst in a long career or measured and thoughtful action … whether you happen to agree with his actions or not … is not a big deal. I’d suggest in fact, given the severity of his experiences as a POW, in balance he shows every sign of having a strong and highly disciplined personality.  Â
NY Post makes it simple for morons like us. OK, morons like me, then.

The idea, at least to me, is to keep Obama and Clinton away for the Presidency. McCain, though not exactly the person I would have in mind, seems to be the chosen one.
His VP choice is quite critical, yes for some of what Vodka said…BUT more for winning and not have it handed to the other side. The other side is all for wealth redistribution…Socialism, is a good term.
While McCain is liberal in many ways…I don’t think (and that is bad to do) that he has a Socialist bent.
In my most humble and not worth two cents opinion, my choice for VP would be Joseph Isadore Lieberman. Fred would be OK…but the extreme Left would attack and savage. Of course they would do the same if it were Lieberman.
They despise his telling them to take a Kos leap and still winning re-election as an Independent. Beside the fact that Lieberman, is for damn sure aware of the threat of Islamism, not only to Israel…but most assuredly the U.S.
The middle grounders both Republican and Democrat, not the extremes are going to determine the election. I strongly believe that Lieberman has an appeal to the “middle grounders”, whether they are R’s or D’s.
Remember the objective here…No Clinton, No Obama.

End of story.

Rephrased blogagog:
Obama/Billary - YES
End of story.
McCain was near the bottom of the barrel for me. I wanted a Giuliani-Thompson ticket, then Romney with a hawk. Romney won my long-lasting respect with his concession speech - putting the nation first. (If he doesn’t get a cabinet position I would be stunned.) So I’m going to vote for Angry Juan McShamnesty, because victory in the war on terror is worth more than the GOP. I’d vote for Give ‘em Hell (and socialism!) Harry Truman if he’d win the war.
