Voice of Experience

States eloquently: Don’t get sucked in by the eloquence.

This was meant just to be a post about how ironic and absurd a sentence that is, and how ridiculous is the reporter who fails to point that out. I remember a few years ago, after Bill had STFU for some time, and he started his comeback.  I’m listening to him for a couple of minutes, and thinking, wow, this guy’s really good.  I listen some more, and realize, this guy’s entirely full of shit.  Now I remember. But he’s really good at it. Like a really good car salesman. “Go on, kick the tires. Like that thud noise? Check those seats. That’s 100 percent Corinthian leather.”  I don’t know, whatever car salesmen say. My apologies to any car salesmen in the audience. Not offense intended. Believe me, I hold you in much higher regard and know you have mouths to feed. You can go make some media jokes if you like.  Anyway, I’m listening for a few minutes, and like I said, I realize the tones are seductive, but he is entirely full of shit.

You know, a lot of people have bought this “experience” thing. Even Obama voters aren’t really questioning it, and a lot of  Hillary voters are convinced of it. There are Obama voters who have switched because of it. I think it may be because Hillary’s a familiar face, been around a while, has a president husband, and she and her husband and a lot of other people keep repeating it. Because the Clintons have been telling them that Obama  doesn’t have it. Also, because Obama’s campaign is pulling a Kerry on it, by which I mean they are not contesting it. Which tends to suggest the Clintons are right. In fact, they are. It is about experience, and she has more of it.  He can talk hope and change all day, and win the rinky dink primaries. But experience means knowing that going negative works, and repeating lies works, and it also means knowing your basic math, which currently adds up to it isn’t over yet. I’m not saying they’re going to win this. It’s close. But the Clintons have been around the block a couple of times. It’s over when they agree it is.

Either that, or the wheels entirely coming off. WSJ: Clinton Team Seeks to Calm Turmoil

TIME pulls back a little for a big picture. It’s about organization. Who can put boots on the ground, to use an awkward analogy. That probably makes more sense than message, which in both cases is pretty thin. TIME is enjoying the high brought low, but after taking you down TIME brings you back up again. Clintons are regrouping, still could do it. It’s an old scribbling trick, but it just means Michaels Duffy and Weiskopf, both of whom have been around a few blocks themselves,  aren’t ready to count them out, either.

The Fat Lady (no relation) is still in her dressing room. I think the Clintons’ will have a race war before the give up.

I looked at that picture of Clinton, which was taken some time ago, and thought about what he looked like the other night (even with obvious make-up). Am I the only one who thinks that the picture in the attic has taken on human form? They say you get the face you earn at a certain age. Man.

Mystery solved. Hillary has never had sex with Bill. Chelsea was cloned.

    Prove it ain’t so.
