Brain Surgery Re Rocket Science

Shachtman at Danger Room noodles out the plan, cites dearth of danger from incoming toxic space junk, quotes experts who think that’s a silly excuse for the gullible press and public consumption. Sounds about right. The toxic mess they want to limit the danger of is space-happy China. Demonstrate their prowess, how mighty are their rockets. Or it’s aimed at an incoming toxic administration that might want to take the juice out out of their thrusters. Or maybe it’s just because. For fun. Of course, if there is any chance of that thing coming down intact, the last thing you’d want is for it to come crashing through an onion dome somewhere with evidence that the United States was taking sat shots of Vlad in various state of undress or something like that.

He’s put up 3 or 4 posts on how we are doing this for ulterior motives. Is he trying to one-up the NYT or something?

  4. blogagog Says:

Now he’s got ANOTHER one up! Noah really hates rockets, I guess.

  5. Bart Says:

Yes, he really hates rockets if they are used in any way to defend ourselves. Not saying he’s wrong here, in the classic stopped clock sense, but I personnally couldn’t care less, as long as they succeed in hitting it.
