Hasta la Blah Blah Blah
¡El Windbag Brutal dimite! ¡Viva la Brutalidad Ventosa! CNN:
“I will not aspire to, nor will I accept the position of president of the council of state and commander in chief,” Castro wrote. “I wish only to fight as a soldier of ideas. … Perhaps my voice will be heard.”
¡La Blah Blah Blah siempre! ¿Pero cómo podemos anhelar para usted cuando usted no se irá?
President Bush said Castro’s decision ought to spark “a democratic transition” for Cuba.
Tengo un puente para la venta.
“The international community should work with the Cuban people to begin to build institutions that are necessary for democracy and eventually this transition ought to lead to free and fair elections,” Bush said Tuesday in Rwanda, where he is visiting during a five-nation African tour. “The United States will help the people of Cuba realize the blessings of liberty.”
¿Con las fuerzas aéreas este vez?
Castro received treatment for intestinal problems two years ago and cited his “critical health condition” in the letter published Tuesday. He said “it would be a betrayal to my conscience to accept a responsibility requiring more mobility and dedication than I am physically able to offer.”
¡Flash de las noticias! ¡Él tiene una conciencia! Eso podía explicar la dolencia del estómago.
OK, enough fun. I’ll hand off to the superlative Babalublog.

Lord, watching all the lefties swoon over this pointless gesture will be nauseating. Please, Cuba, admit that Castro is dead, and finish this farce already, huh?

Castro Resigns! Sanctions Work!
Castro has finally succumbed to the sanctions that have crippled Cuba’s economy and steadily weakened his rule for the last 50 years.

I recall when Fidel boasted (pre illness) that his doctor had pronounced him so sound he could live well into his 100’s.
(if it sounds like sycophantic hyperbole, it was)
It was either one of his Cuban physicians or the guy he had personally flown in from Spain, I forget.
Castro also had a medical wing built especially for himself and has received “healthcare” orders of magnitude more sophisticated and elaborate than any common Cuban citizen might ever dream of.
Communism, ain’t it the greatest ?

Meet the New Boss; Same as the Old Boss
Lest anyone think that the situation is going to improve overnight, Raul is little different from his brother and while some think that he’s going to take on the mantle of reformer, Cuba doesn’t need reform - it needs to scrap its totalitarian and so…

“…sanctions that have crippled Cuba’s economy…”
There is no such thing as a successful communist economy. They’re all crippled, whether they engage in trade with the United States or not.

Let’s see how quick the rich white sophisticates gush out their sorrow at el Jefe Supremo. I can bet Burlington, Cambridge, Madison, Boulder and Berkeley’s elite are wearing black armbands in solidarity, and wish the old bastard well on his one-way trip to hell.

Looking forward to the funeral. I mean where else will you be able to see such a collection of antique cars during the procession to the graveyard?
