U.S. Terror Exports Up
Say’s A’jad, who should know. Iran’s been one of the world’s leading terror exporters for decades. AFP:
Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad said on Sunday that the people of Iraq “do not like America,” and dismissed President George W. Bush’s charge that Tehran supports militants (AFP means terrorists) in Iraq.
“Bush always accuses others without evidence and this increases problems. The Americans have to understand that Iraqi people do not like America,” Ahmadinejad told reporters after meeting Iraqi Prime Minister Nuri al-Maliki in Baghdad.
On Saturday, ahead of Ahmadinejad’s landmark visit to Baghdad, Bush accused him of “exporting terror” to Iraq.
Another AFP article adds:
“Six years ago there was no terrorism in our region. As soon as strangers (the Americans) put their foot in the region, the terrorists came here,” he said.
That article also included the helpful observation:
The televised lovefest was enough to give supporters of US President George W. Bush a seizure.
Actually, it’s the reporting that’s giving me the dry heaves. We know A’jad’s an A’hole, and the Iraqis … Kurds as well as Shiites, apparently … want to suck up to him. How about a little context? American voters actually have stark choices to make about the foreign policy of our country with regarding to this pariah theocracy. European leaders have been remarkably outspoken on this issue, verging on useful.
Neither AFP — which throws in Iran apologist Juan Cole as a commentator and some other guy who sees Iran as stabilizing the region if we pull out – nor AP’s similar report managed to note that Iran has been classed as a leading exporter of terrorism for decades, implicated in terrorism and murder by proxy in Lebanon as well as Iraq more recently.
NPR buries all of that in its report about the Iran-Iraq lovefest that shows how important Iraq is, but at least throws in a mention that lots of Sunnis can’t believe anyone’s falling for A’jad.

These people have a morgue, don’t they? They have some kind of records of their own news reporting over the last 30 years, don’t they? They can read, can’t they?

No, thank you very much, you were sending them all to us. Now they’re your problem. How do you like it?
