Batte de Lune*

Cotillard découvre que les choses sont pas aussi existentielles aux Etats-Unis.**

The French actress who won hearts when she gushed adorably over her Oscar for playing Edith Piaf in “La Vie En Rose” reportedly is a moonbat who has claimed the truth about the Sept. 11 attacks has been covered up.

Marion Cotillard told a French TV program in February 2007, “I think we’re lied to about a number of things.” Her wacky theory was that the destruction of the towers was an inside job, prompted by the towers becoming obsolete, according to news reports.

“It was a money-sucker because they were finished, it seems to me, by 1973, and to recable all that, to bring up-to-date all the technology and everything, it was a lot more expensive, that work, than destroying them,” she said. She also claimed the 1969 moon landing never having happened.

It’s unclear what tune she’s singing now.

“Marion never intended to contest nor question the attacks of Sept. 11, 2001, and regrets the way old remarks have been taken out of context,” her lawyer, Vincent Tolesano, told Agence France Presse. But the Times of London reported Cotillard will not apologize. Her agent, Bastien Duval said Cotillard was “still in shock” at the angry U.S. reaction. He said Cotillard only wanted to form her own opinion about the Sept. 11 attacks rather than follow the official version blaming al-Qaeda.

“This reportage has been taken out of context,” he told the Times. “Marion deplores that. She is currently filming in Chicago and has a lot of work. She is in an ocean of happiness and voila, this row blows up. It’s rather strange.”

Fantastic……..”He said Cotillard only wanted to form her own opinion about the Sept. 11 attacks rather than follow the official version blaming al-Qaeda.”

Rather than follow the official version? Oh you mean the truth? The thing that happened in front of everyones eyes? That was celebrated and trumpeted as a triumphant fait accomplis by Al Queda themselves?

Perhaps Cotillard would like to eat a crap sandwich as well? Granted, the official version of crap is that is smells bad, it tastes bad and it’ll give you untold amounts of disceases if eaten but maybe Cotillard thinks that if she tries it herself it might just taste of banana.

    What a twit.

That sez it all. She’s just another effing moonbat. With a nice rack, but still an effing moonbat. Glad I never saw “La Vie En Rose”….now I never will.

I would never boycott an artist of any sort based on their political views. For one, if I did, there would be precious little in the way of entertainment to enjoy, and for another, I actually feel reassured when most of the actors/musicians/artists/etc. disagree with me politically. I only get worried when I find myself in total agreement. Maybe that’s why I found that Angelina Jolie editorial so disconcerting… but then there is always the rare exception.

France is, after all, where some guy wrote a book shortly after 911 claiming that no plane hit the Pentagon.

And at least one reasonably intelligent Frenchman told me at the time that that was a credible thesis.

    He later recanted, praise Allah.

Ok she is an actress, with certain enowments, and she is an idiot. So what?

The real question is why is she playing role depicting a woman who was 4′6″ and weighed maybe 73 lbs.?

You lost me right at the beginning. I didn’t understand 11 of the first 11 words.

    Who is Marion Cotillard?

Fatty, I tend to agree with your statement. It’s just that I make a point of not going out of my way to pay to see certain movies and such. If I could snag a second hand DVD, or watch it on HBO sometime, I might do so.

And, for me, it doesn’t cut off a lot of entertainment. A lot of what gets thrown onto movie screens these days is trash anyway. I usually wait for DVD anyway.
