In Baghdad, via Gateway, who also swings a heavy sledgehammer for a little Iraq myth-busting.

It was a myth in Vietnam, and it’s a myth now. It’s also an incredible insult to the black men who served in Vietnam (most of whom were volunteers) and the ones who serve now (all of whom are volunteers).

The lefties will ignore these facts, as they don’t fit the anti-war narrative.

I am particularly happy to see this pernicious myth destroyed whenever it raises its ugly head. It is extremely disrespectful to volunteers of any color and it is exemplified by the sort of Kerryesque attitude that only stupid people get stuck in Iraq. It got its start in the Vietnam era saying “black men drafted to fight yellow men on behalf of white men” and has stayed in the Left’s playbook ever since. The fact that anyone still in the service who was drafted is probably a Flag or General Officer by now notwithstanding. Lefties never let facts get in the way of a good juicy myth that supports their otherwise failed ideology..
As evidence of how much has changed, in WW2 black leadership was critical of policies that kept blacks in service support roles, even when there were critical shortages in combat arms. Sure wish we had those guys back.

How disengenious of Rangle. You can’t tell me that he isn’t well aware of the correct statistics. He’s an underhanded, oily son-of-a-bitch, but he’s not stupid. I don’t think anyone in a position of authority doesn’t understand the statistics. They lie for a reason — an obvious, underhanded, oily reason.
