Unstoppable

Philly Inquirer: Who can go the distance? Hill.

Guardian: It’s not that the Dems have a rubbish candidate. They had the rotten luck to have two formidable ones.

Totten: Monsters Ball.

Washington Post: Influential Dems waiting to choose sides.

Times of London: Hill’s Three Ways to Win

Bill via CNN: Hill-Obama ticket would be unstoppable.

Unstoppable laugh-riot, to judge by the Dem race so far. Meanwhile, in other bad ideas I thoroughly support: Al Gore for Uniter.

I seriously that Gore will step into the presidential race as a candidate. For one thing, it would mean that the results of every single Democratic primary election would be tossed out the window. While the DNC leadership might accept that, the rank and file probably would not.

For another, Gore has too much influence and is making too much money, with virtually no accountability, to become President. Besides, he might lose again, and I doubt that his ego could take another shock like that.

Finally, I’m not certain that Obama would accept the Veep position on the Dhimmicratic ticket.

But if that was to happen, expect a contentious White House for 4 years. Between Gore, Obama, and Michelle, there will be an overabundance of ego vying for attention from the media. It could get ugly. Again.

Whichever one wins the Democratic nomination, there’s a very good chance the party will spit itself in two. Frankly, I believe that can only be a positive outcome, both for any moderate Democrats that are left, and for the country.

Now if we could just do something about the Republicans.

Obama would be a fool to accept the Veep post now. His best bet, I think, is to finish out his term, maybe do another one, then get elected as governor of Illinois. A term as governor, on top of ten years or so in the Senate, especially if he develops a record of legislative accomplishment (now missing), will position him well for a run in 2016, when he will be only about 55.

As a Pack, on the other hand, I’m looking forward to a Bobby Jindal Presidential Campaign in 2012 or 2016.
