That theory that Clinton’s playing to the left, only opposing Iraq for mercenary reasons, won’t be an utter foreign policy disaster if she gets elected, just took a hit. Murtha endorses Hillary.

I don’t trust her one bit when it comes to doing what’s right for the country. I do trust her to do what’s in her own best interest. If she thinks that pulling out of Iraq will lead to a civil war there, one that she’ll be blamed for, then she won’t do it. If she can remove our troops without major problems (which would be great, of course) and take the credit, then she’ll do that. The hope is that in this case, her interests and the country’s interests will be in alignment.
On the other hand, we don’t know enough about Obama to assume that he’ll look at things the same way as Hillary. My gut feeling is that he’ll do what he wants to do, heedless of the likely outcome or the effect on others, and then try to use words to make it all OK. That seems to be a summation of his history in politics, as limited as that time may be.

And Pelosi is backing Obama. She knows the truth. There is only one queen bee in a hive. So does Murtha.

I’m aching to see the back end of all of them. There have surely been other collections of curs and scoundrels in government, but you’d be hard pressed to find worse than the current one.
