Bush’s War
Frontline’s four-and-a-half-hour epic, airing tonight and tomorrow night on PBS, isn’t actually about Bush. It’s not really about his war, either. “Cabinet Infighting” would have been a better title.
Short review: Cheney-Rumsfeld Junta lied, people died. Surge? What surge? Longer review here.
Disclosure: Frontline paid me money for that ad to right. I endeavored not to be influenced by that fact, and reviewed Frontline’s work on its merits. Which were few. Prior review re Frontline’s “Haditha: Rules of Engagement,” which was considerably better than this sloppy hatchet job.

The title alone was an excellent indicator that this was probably going to be a waste of time.

Yeah, well, Lefties called Vietnam “Nixon’s War”, conveniently forgetting who got us into it, so I wouldn’t read too much into the title Fatty. Liberals hate war, (when Republicans wage it). Hell, they hated the Civil War and wanted to surrender because it was a Republican waging it.
But don’t tell Reverend Wright, he’d have to re-do his next sermon.

Take money where you can get it, Jules. Less for “them” to spend.

Question: If we win the war, does Bush still get to keep it?

When President Obama orders the the helicopters off the roof of the US embassy in Baghdad, the war will be lost by the United states of America.
The Democrats have at no point in this entire conflict acted as if they had any concern with the impact of the war on the USA. They have acted as if this war, or any other, could belong to someone other than the whole country. They have no loyalty to any entity other than their own power.
I see no reason to question their patriotism. They have none, no question about it.
