Evil Eye
Three of our neighbors to the south kill over witchcraft. It was self-defense. Sounds reasonable. Hey, if that that third one they haven’t located yet can make his way over the border, he can get a fresh start where nobody knows his name.

All he has to do is head for a sanctuary city, and he’ll be safe. At least until somebody turns the evil eye on him.
I remember seeing the occasional evil eye bracelet in Europe when I lived there as a kid. I was pretty amazed when my Mom told me what they were for, and that people really believed in it. It’s nonsense, but a lot of people take it seriously, and it’s one of the world’s most ancient superstitions. I seem to remember my parents bringing some back from a trip as souvenir trinkets, probably when they went to Greece or Rome.

That’s the sort of story that the Jungle Trader posts. Are you encroaching onto his turf, Jules? If so, better watch out for the evil eye…..
