I’ll say one thing: this kind of thing has been under wraps for far too long. If we’re ever going to have a united country that “bases merit on the content of character and not the color of skin”, whites aren’t the only ones who have to get over their prejudices. It’s time to end the double standard once and for all. If the Obama/Wright debacle accomplishes anything, it should be that.

Oh how I wish VDH had been one of my college profs back in the day. Instead I had a sorry collection of dorm room peaceniks, tax eaters, queer theorists, nanny staters, Vagina monologuists and Ho Chi Minh lovers.

Good point, Rebecca. I hope Obama does not become our next president, but maybe his candidacy will end up having some positive benefits.
