Zbigniew with the “smart” way out of Iraq at Washington Post.  It’s a kind of magical realism. It’s responsible abandonment with a heavy reliance on the unreliable. Israeli-Palestinian peace floats without apparent reference to the remarkable accomplishment of the Bush administration. The best part might be expecting Arab nations to supply peacekeepers. The national security advisor to Jimmy Carter, whose administration ushered in the age of state-sponsored terrorism, astonishingly sneers at shadowy fears of the unknown and worst-case scenarios.

Daalder and Gordon: Dead people shmed people. Responsible abandonment is all about the $$$.
