Gross National Happiness

It’s Bhutan’s economic measure. There’s some eastern mysticism involved. A couple of those principles look worthwhile, and it sounds nice. You could levitate a truckload of progressive Stalinism through that policy, though. A better approach to boost GNH in the United States, seeing as we’re not a remote, sparsely populated medieval Himalayan Buddhist kingdom, might be to instruct Congress and large parts of the federal bureaucratic apparatus to go to Bhutan and hum for a while.
