G.I. Hill

Here’s that weird one about Hillary wanting to join the Marines or the Army or some uniformed branch of the military-industrial complex in 1975, at age 27, possibly as an alternative with marriage to Bill. Did she have him figured out yet or was it life in Arkansas that looked bleaker? Maybe just testing the jarheads’ commitment to wimmin’s rights, as has been suggested. Hard to imagine it was actually as a serious career choice or out of any sense of patriotism. Who knows, maybe she had a brief urge to test her strength and skills as a woman warrior. Or maybe, the Hero of Tuzla and Bill are just full of it. I wonder if there’s some crusty old Marine recruiter out there who remembers a bespectacled, severe-looking 27-year-old Ivy League lawyer coming into the recruiting office in Fayetteville around that time. She’d have to stand out. Definitely not one of the aboriginals.

Great pic JC. Hillary as the selfless earnest lefty activist lawyer who cares more about defending “the little guy” than she does about her own appearance.
Who knew?

“I remember when we were young, right out of law school, she went down and tried to join the Army…”
Spare me.
