Hurricane Watch

Hurricane forecaster and noted warming skeptic William Gray says Colorado State University is trying to ice him out by cutting publicity support for his forecasts.  Not clear from the article what that means.  No more press releases or press conferences?  They won’t hand out his number when reporters call during hurrican season?  Not a lot of profs out there who need a flack to help them pick up the phone. I’m trying to think. Who else at CSU in Fort Collins actually gets any national attention?   The only prof from Colorado whose name I can think of off the top of my head is this one, and he no longer is one. There’s a lot of discussion in the article about Gray’s inflammatory rhetoric re warmth. That seems a little unfair when some people get Nobel Peace Prizes and Oscars for their inflammatory global warming rhetoric.

Tigerhawk suggests it may be a teapot tempest that has more to do with intra-departmental jealousy than warming controversy.

  1. Robert Says:

Gray’s biggest problem may be that his last couple of forecasts were way off.
