Comic Timing
Didja hear the one about someone shooting the presidential candidate?
LOUISVILLE, Ky. - Republican Mike Huckabee responded to an offstage noise during his speech to the National Rifle Association by suggesting it was Barack Obama diving to the floor because someone had aimed a gun at him.
Hearing a loud noise and interrupting his speech, Huckabee said: “That was Barack Obama. He just tripped off a chair. He’s getting ready to speak and somebody aimed a gun at him and he — he dove for the floor.”
There were only a few murmurs in the crowd after the remark.
What a card! I think by “only a few murmurs,” what the AP wanted to say is, “there was a stunned silence.” That’s what I’m going with. Good comic timing, though, if by some remote chance the McCain campaign actually is considering this guy for veep. Kind of sounds like he’s itching to shoot someone.

Yeah, I read about this, and could only shake my head in disbelief. And then I realized that The Huckster had just shot himself in the foot as far as the VP slot was concerned…….and I smiled.

Har Har.
I hope Jeff’s right. If this guy is McCain’s veep, I’m not voting this year.
