Spousal Immunity
Obama, angered by shameless use of his wife’s stump speeches, tells GOP, “Lay off my wife!” ABC:
Sen. Barack Obama ripped into a Republican ad today that targets comments made by his wife, Michelle, and called the GOP tactic “low class” and “detestable.”
The Illinois senator told “Good Morning America” that he expects hardball tactics from the Republicans if he becomes the Democratic presidential nominee.
“But I also think these folks should lay off my wife,” he told “GMA” as his wife chuckled beside him.
…
Obama was careful not to act as if he had already clinched the nomination, but he also tried to present himself as the candidate who will be taking on Republican Sen. John McCain of Arizona in the fall.
The Republicans seem to have come to the same conclusion and a GOP Internet campaign in Tennessee has an ad featuring Michelle Obama’s comments during the long Democratic campaign that “for the first time in my adult life, I am proud of my country.”
Michelle Obama was asked about the ad on “GMA,” but her husband said, “Let me just interject on this.”
“The GOP, should I be the nominee, I think can say whatever they want to say about me, my track record,” Obama said. “I’ve been in public life for 20 years. I expect them to pore through everything that I’ve said, every utterance, every statement. And to paint it in the most undesirable light possible. That’s what they do.”
“But I do want to say this to the GOP. If they think that they’re going to try to make Michelle an issue in this campaign, they should be careful. Because that I find unacceptable,” he said.
Obama praised his wife’s patriotism and said that for Republicans “to try to distort or to play snippets of her remarks in ways that are unflattering to her I think is just low class … and especially for people who purport to be promoters of family values, who claim that they are protectors of the values and ideals and the decency of the American people to start attacking my wife in a political campaign I think is detestable.”
OK. Tell her to stop saying wackadoo stuff then, if either of you are able to figure out which stuff that is. Also, you might want to tell Howard Dean to leave off Cindy McCain.
Anyway, it looks like the Obama camp has decided to put forward a new angry Obama who gets his back up. It will be interesting to see if Americans notice that he’s also full of it when fiesty.

Ed at Hotair: “Toughen up, buttercup, and stop whining.”

In other stupid stuff Obamas say, Toldjah with Iran, other “tiny” troublemakers no problem.

It has gotten so bad for poor Michelle, that they have put her on suicide watch.

This sounds a awfully like Obama is engaging in a dialogue with preconditions.

One of Obama’s appealing characteristics used to be that he appeared unflappable. He’s losing that image, I think. I don’t think it helps him.

“for the first time in my adult life, I am proud of my country.”
Personally, I find THAT low class and detestable. She’s flat out telling everyone that the only way she’s going to be proud of America is if she’s First Lady and her husband is POTUS. Otherwise, to hell with America.
I don’t think the Obamas even know what the word patriotism means (par for the course for Democrats). If they did then they wouldn’t belong to a church who’s pastor calls on God to damn America.
Anyone who votes for this jagoff is a damned fool. These people are out for themselves, not for America, and they’re going to screw you every chance they get, if they get the power to do it.
And Mr. Obama’s idiot wife is totally fair game if she’s going to go around making statements like that.

So the MSM can’t complain about McCain’s wife being a beer heiress?
Not that there’s anything wrong with beer, mind you……..

Boo. Hoo. Obama doesn’t have the intestinal fortitude to be a candidate, never mind President. If he didn’t want his wife’s comments to bear scrutiny, then he should never have let her stand behind a microphone. Once you step up onto that stage, you’re fair game.
Personally, I don’t think Obama believes any differently from his wife and pastor. He’s just better at lying to hide it.
I hope no conservatives sit this one out no matter how much they might dislike McCain, because no vote is essentially half a vote for Obozo.

For some reason this really makes me laugh.
“Unacceptable!” I read that and immediately flashed on the scene in Scent of a Women in which the naive prep school kid thinks that word is going to immediately change the Pacino character’s plan. (Doesn’t!)
Obama reminds me so much of an adolescent. He knows it all. It is all so obvious to him, and the grownups are just so tiresome.
What is he talking about, anyway? “But I do want to say this to the GOP. If they think that they’re going to try to make Michelle an issue in this campaign, they should be careful.” What is he going to do, hold his breath?

Barry, if you don’t want her criticized, then keep the silly bint under wraps. She makes more in a year than some recent generations of my honkie family made in their entire lives. She ought to be down on her knees kissing the ground instead on riffing off Berkeley bumper sticker sayings.
Oh and if America is so mean and unfair to black people, then why is it to her husband’s advantage to run as a black man, in effect repudiating the white women who stood by him and raised him, while paying homage to the black lout who abandoned him? Seems to me he’d be trying to hide that if this is such a racist hellhole.
