“One American division was toasting a new ‘one man army.’ The army was Johnny Correggio of Everett, Mass.,” gushed one news account. “Correggio, acting as a scout, had a field day with the Japs recently. Penetrating an enemy position he killed five Nips with his rifle. Then he found one who was busy shaving, and got him with his bayonet.”
