AQ to call for NBC attack. ABC:
Intelligence and law enforcement sources tell ABC News they are expecting al Qaeda operatives will post a new video on the Internet in the next 24 hours, calling for what one source said is “jihadists to use biological, chemical and nuclear weapons to attack the West.”
“There have been several reports that al Qaeda will release a new message calling for the use of weapons of mass destruction (WMD) against civilians,” FBI spokesman Richard Kolko told ABC News in an e-mail.
“Although there have been similar messages in the past, the FBI and [Department of Homeland Security] have no intelligence of any specific plot or indication of a threat to the U.S.,” the e-mail said. “The FBI and U.S. intelligence community will review the message for any intelligence value.”
Cave dwellers wish they had nukes, bio-chem weapons, but to date they have yet to manage that or any kind of conventional followon in the United States. Not for want of trying. Upcoming taped message sounds another salvo in al-Qaeda’s ongoing campaign to remain relevant. Knock on wood, with a big shout out to all those who never stop tracking jihadis, capturing jihadis, inshallah killing jihadis wherever they find them. Way to go, guys and gals.
Sidelining of A.Q. Khan, keeping Pakistan onside, removing Saddam, frightening Moammar, breaking Bashir’s toys, Kim in a box, all good. Want the mullahs to get nukes? Hope for change!
Meanwhile, Mohammed Cohen at Asia Times with more same old same old cites “an informed source” of a retired assistant secretary of state positing an Iran attack in the next two months. Sounds a little like a State echo chamber, but sure, why not. I’ll believe it when I see it. Meanwhile, re Mohammed Cohen, is there a reason why a guy with a byline like that doesn’t have a talk show on CNN, Fox, al-Jazeera, whatever? Maybe MSNBC. He tends toward the stock Bush bash, but who cares? If he can mix it up on air, that could be a great show.

Mohammed Cohen is surely suffering an identity crisis. And things must not be going so swimmingly in Iran with all this mullahgitation.
