Two GOP Game Plans, One Dem Dilemma
U.S. Senator Tom Coburn, R-Okla., at WSJ: Start being Republicans, stop trying to out-Dem the Dems. Make it about lifting people out of poverty, not keeping them in it.
Froma Harrop, ProJo via RCP: Out-Dem the Dems! Be the unifier Obama wishes he was.
Fortunately, despite the confusion in the GOP ranks and at the helm illustrated above, the Dems may actually have bigger problems. Not least among them, the pending meatball surgery to address the gaping wound of Michigan and Florida, badly infected with Clintoneria. My adversaries at the Globe dissect Dr. Dean’s bedside manner. A pol with all the subtlety and effectiveness of Mel Brooks’ mayor in “Blazing Saddles.” OK, sports-medicine-movies, that’s three analogies and I’m outta here.

Sadly, I am forced to point out that William J. LePetomane’s elective office in “Blazing Saddles” was that of governor.
Happily, that makes the analogy work better!… As Governor Howard Dean worries about their phony-baloney jobs!
