Visit Sunni Iraq
You remember those troops Obama supports, but won’t walk with. Here’s one. Spc. Kate Norley, combat medic, Vets for Freedom, urging a Mideast tour. Vid via Malkin. Turns out Obama suddenly is, maybe, interested in walking the walk. I hope that’s not just because he’s afraid people might think he doesn’t care, or that he’s a wienie. Hang on, he said as long as it isn’t a “political stunt.” That pretty much rules it out any time between now and … whenever.
Quick Iraq check:
Al-Maliki to Arabs at Upplands Vasby conference: don’t hold Saddam against us. Here’s a great chance to give something besides more suicide bombers. Debt forgiveness please.
Iraq is stepping “back from the abyss,” says UN Secretary Ban Ki Moon. Someone tell Obama.

Talk about lack of political progress, here are some Iraqis fighting just to play soccer. Here we are, they’re good to go.

“Walks with troops” would be a superior native American name for Obama than “one who helps people throughout the land.” Too bad he’s unlikely to earn either.
Having the UN tentatively call Iraq for the good guys might even be enough to get some attention from the liberal media. They’ve been intent on ignoring Iraq, but can they continue to do that when even their darling UN has commented on the major progress being made there? We shall see.

Look for more economic, environmental, and social doomwailing in order to obscure the main difficulty of this early part of the century: the war against the Islamist anti-west ideology and the accompanying acts of terror. Obama, for all his clever manipulation, is trapped by the Democrat oeuvre: that nothing good ever, ever happens during a Republican administration.
