Sore Loserman Zombie

Abroad in the land! Embittered Hillary blogger accuses DNC’s RBC of  stealing the nomination for Obama. It’s a ”Sore Loserman” redux.

Someone needs to explain the difference to that guy between the United States Constitution, the Supreme Court, and a bunch of Democratic Party hacks in a smoke-filled backroom. Never mind, it sounds like he plans to vote McCain.*  It is truly tragic to watch this great American party self-destruct. First the Great Mandate of 2006, now this. But as entertaining as it may be to some meanspirited cynics, it is a scary and dangerous situation.  What if these petty short-sighted infighting incompetents win?

*Not that it’s over yet. Politico: Clintonistas vow “August and no earlier!”

Today’s 31 delegates in South Dakota and Montana aren’t enough to push Obama over the top, VOA notes. He starts the day 44 short. VOA reports party officials think enough superdelegates will swing Obamaward after the voting’s done tonight to give it to him. Either that or it’s Night of the Living Dead. Clinton was still picking up superdelegates yesterday and trying to poach Obama’s.

Enter NYT with a report that Obama’s got a big push on the superdelegates to clinch, and this odd paragraph:

Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton invited fund-raisers and other supporters to an election-night rally in New York City where, aides said, she was prepared to deliver what they described as a farewell speech that summed up the case for her candidacy. They said Mrs. Clinton was not likely to withdraw from the race on Tuesday night, probably waiting until later in the week, once Mr. Obama’s victory appeared clear.

Which is to say it isn’t over till …

The most likely situation, some of Mrs. Clinton’s aides said, was that she would suspend her campaign later in the week and would probably — though not definitely — endorse Mr. Obama.

… the last eyeball is gouged.

Consider me a mean-spirited cynic. I never thought the Democratic Party would dare desert its chosen black-saint-for-president, and I don’t think he can win (and his race, or half-race, has absolutely nothing to do with it). Hillary might still be able to gouge her way to the nomination, but it isn’t likely. She was the tougher candidate, and frankly, the Democratic Party as it exists today needs to self-destruct if we are ever to have a healthy two-party system ever again.

Oh, yeah, and Republicans, I’m looking at you, too.
