News of Patusan* and Points Beyond

Jungle Trader hacks his way through Old Europe’s old growth, ventures deep into the Concrete Jungle and reports on the horrors of the Lost City of the Aztecs. Of course, the wilds of India aren’t so wild anymore. Don’t worry, he’s still the pith-helmeted, chotapeg-slurping sahib you’ve always known. All the above and more hauled in overland, at great cost in sweat, dray animals and lives, poor devils, by the Jungle Trader

* If you don’t know the reference you need to read your Conrad. Heck, if you do know the reference, you need to read your Conrad again. Now that I think of it, once I get out of the Russian Front, I need to read my Conrad. Not suggesting the Jungle Trader is haunted by any dark secrets, though I expect he probably is.

  1. Peregrine John Says:

“Mexico has seen a huge surge in violence recently as the government attempts to crack down on the nation’s powerful drug cartels.”

See? See? A surge-style crackdown can’t work! It just makes more violence! And terrorists! And criminals! And terribly criminal violence! Innocent civilians and duped soldiers are dying, and for what? Those drug cartels weren’t even there before this all began! Everyone knows they were only in Columbia and only went through Mexico to conduct their business elsewhere and anyone who claims to be part of those Columbian cartels are only using the name to ride the coattails of the actual cartels who wouldn’t have been there at all if not for the ill-advised governmental interference!

    *pant, pant*
Sorry. Had a MSM moment, there. Better, now.

  2. Fatty Bolger Says:

It’s tough to crack down on criminals when so many of them are police.
