Reckless Hothead
Best defense for a Kumbayah-singer accused of being a wimp is still a good offense. Obama camp trots out the McCain-is-a-reckless-hothead theme.
TPM’s Sargent, Obama Camp: McCain is a Reckless Hothead.
TPM’s Marshall asks “Is It True?” Soberly intones only Obama can keep his wife and two sons safe: McCain is more trigger happy than Bush.
Never mind that it’s not actually based on any fact, simply an effort to exalt the virtues of dithering, handwringing and doing nothing over the credible threat of force and unwillingness to take crap from people who are more than willing to dish it out. And it’s a thinly disguised tripwire vet slur. It was only a matter of time. I told you so. Post-Traumatic Presidency.
Meanwhile, there’s some gotcha on whether McCain suddenly wants a draft. Hey, bring it on.
With a nod to Memeorandum on the links.

I used to think Josh Marshall was a smart liberal. You know, the kind with whom you can disagree and still see his point of view.
I stopped thinking that a while ago.
Now Marshall just recycles DNC talking points and calls it journalism.
He epitomizes my working definition of “liberal” as “a person who has never taken a course in economics and by dint of being raised middle class is insulated from the negative effects of his ideas.”
I’m still working on that definition, but Marshall gives me new material about every week now.

One can only imagine the tsunami of frothing insanity that will overtake the blathering classes should Obama lose. We’d have to bring all the troops home just to fill the sandbags.

The problem the anti-violence crowd has with violence is not that people get hurt, but that violence is icky. You get blood and blubbering and some really nasty stains. And that means having to do the laundry instead of cavailing about the latest ersatz crisis. It’s upsetting, and some people can’t handle getting upset.
By protecting our children from violence we keep them from learning one very valuable lesson, being bossy has a price.
