Assassination Plot
Four morons arrested in plot to kill Obama. Here’s a couple of them. There was meth, there was a swastika, there were high-powered scoped rifles, there was erratic driving. CBS:
The story began emerging Sunday morning when Aurora police arrested 28-year-old Tharin Gartrell. He was driving a rented pickup truck in an erratic manner according to sources.
Sources told CBS4 police found two high-powered, scoped rifles in the car along with camouflage clothing, walkie-talkies, wigs, a bulletproof vest, a spotting scope, licenses in the names of other people and 44 grams of methamphetamine. One of the rifles is listed as stolen from Kansas.
Aurora police alerted federal officials because of heightened security surrounding the Democratic convention, Dudley said.
“Clearly we feel that there are federal implications — otherwise we would not have notified those agencies,” Det. Marcus Dudley with Aurora police said Monday night. “The weapons clearly would cause great concern.”
Subsequently authorities went to the Cherry Creek Hotel to contact an associate of Gartrell’s. But that man, identified as Shawn Robert Adolph, 33, who was wanted on numerous warrants, jumped out of a sixth floor hotel window. Law enforcement sources say Adolph broke an ankle in the fall and was captured moments later. Sources say he had a handcuff ring and was wearing a swastika, and is thought to have ties to white supremacist organizations.
A third man — an associate of Gartrell and Adolph, Nathan Johnson, 32, was also arrested. He told authorities that the two men “planned to kill Barack Obama at his acceptance speech.”
It was only a matter of time. Fortunately these ones appear to be highly moronic, if somewhat organized. They’re starting to come out of the woodwork. So far the erratically driving racist druggie gun thieves appear to be the highest functioning of the bunch. Here are a couple of others:

Wannabe bail bondsman Raymond Hunter Geisel, 22, Florida, more threats. Relatives insist he wouldn’t harm a fly, he just says stupid things. AP.
Riehl with the latest on the Moron Four: “No credible threat.” Gotta be a bummer if you’re a white supremacist methhead moron with scoped rifles and big plans, and the feds don’t think you’re credible.
Nothing new or unusual about assassination attempts and crazy threats on candidates and presidents. There isn’t a modern president who hasn’t faced at least serious attempt, though apparently Obama’s race is raising stupidity levels among a particular subset of loser-Americans. Speaking of which, remember Hillary’s killer gaffe?
Anyway, hopefully Obama will be permitted the opportunity to lose on his own merits, without racist murderous interference, and return to his life of questionable real estate deals, education reform partnerships with unrepentent flag-stomping terrorists, spousal sinecures, and worship in wacko churches in Illinois. Because it’s the American way. Being permitted to lose on your own merits, that is. Though most of the rest of that stuff is the American way, too. Definitely the Chicago way. Because that’s how great a country America is, that it can absorb that kind of nonsense. It can even survive a presidency comprised of that kind of nonsense, that’s how great this country is.

I wanted to hope that the Democratic Party would repudiate the treatment given to Michelle Malkin, in the interests of American values, free speech, democracy, etc. But I don’t have high hopes of that. The DP has become the party of ugly, fascist stifling of dissent, and any moderates who still reside therein should examine whether they want to remain identified with that.
