The Biden Plan
New strategy to bypass Obama inexperience includes underscoring Biden’s brilliant handling of the counterinsurgency in Iraq, which led to the success we see today. Commentary maggie explains all, and gives credit where credit’s due.
At WSJ, Dan Senor inconveniently observes that Iraqi leaders loudly rejected Biden’s plan to Balkanize their nation. Quick Bidenization roundup follows:
Also at Commentary, Peter Wehner, clearly unaware of the important role Biden played in crafting the Bush administration’s victory in Iraq, bizarrely credits … the Bush administration. Actually, George Bush in particular, for bucking the combined weight of the joint chiefs, Casey, Abizaid, the Iraq Study Group, the surrenderists in Congress, and going with Petraeus, Kagan, Keane, etal. Ha ha, does this Wehner not understand that success has 1,000 fathers? Wehner further notes early, strong surge/counterinsurgency support from McCain. Clearly this man has not read his Iranian talking points.
MEMRI: Iranian U.S. expert explains why Obama is the better choice. He went to Harvard and speaks well, and Biden has tremendous foreign policy experience, having been a senator for 36 years. McCain, on the other hand, is a dangerous lunkhead. However, because backward Americans mistrust education, this works against Obama. Shahid Beshti U. Poli-Sci Prof. Mohammed-Ali Fardanesh doesn’t mention it, but no doubt Iran would have had a field day with a Bidenized, deYanked Iraq … now that’s advanced foreign policy thinking.
Back to success in Iraq, screw the pols, Vietnam USMC combat vet/Iraq correspondent/deep-thinker Bing West on CBS credits the grunts. Big shout out to my friends and acquaintances among them: Fallujah vet USMC Sgt. Brown, best of luck with the incoming, cuz; combat wounded USMC Cpl. Matt Boisvert, LCpl. James Crosby and Pfc. Peter Bagarella, Army Sgt. James Lathan Jr. and Pfc. Paul Skarinka; going back to the beginning, TF 464’s Wolford, Lustig, Jake, Baxter, Smitty, Pasto, to name just a few; and all of you who spent time in the sand or waited at home for someone who did.
