Wife/baby killer Neil Entwistle, not facing innocent women and children any more, runs to white supremacist skinheads for protection from black gangbangers. Rough justice/hilarity ensues. Boston Herald:
Barbaric wife-and-baby-killer Neil Entwistle – behind bars and fearing death threats from black inmates – was conned into shaving his scalp and becoming a skinhead by a phony promise of protection from white-supremacist prisoners, the Herald has learned.
But once the gullible Brit took a prison-issued Bic razor to his Ken-doll coif, the skinheads let him in on the prank – and threatened to whack him, according to two prison officials, speaking on the condition of anonymity.
“It’s a nice gesture on your part but we’re gonna kill you, too,” is how one official described the reaction of Entwistle’s bogus prison buddies to his new ’do.
“He seems to have been very easily manipulated.” the official added.
The stunt was prompted by a faction of Entwistle’s fellow inmates at the Souza-Baranowski Correctional Center in Shirley, who somehow convinced the porn-obsessed computer geek that the way to win their protection was to go “skinhead.”
Since his June conviction in the 2006 slayings of his wife, Rachel, 27, and 9-month-old daughter, Lillian Rose, Entwistle, 29, has resided in the protective custody wing at the maximum security state prison.
“The nonwhite inmates were threatening him, calling him a baby-killer,” one prison official said, describing the volatile and racially charged atmosphere inside the protective custody wing.
Added another source, “He apparently asked: ‘How do you distinguish who belongs to your group and who doesn’t?’
“Then the white inmates eventually convinced him that the only way he was going to have any safety is if he joined up with them.”
So Entwistle, the sources said, proceeded into the prison shower in early August and used a plastic safety razor to scrape the hair off his scalp.
Only he botched the job badly, turning his new ’do into an unsightly don’t.
“When he came out he had a couple of tufts here and there,” one of the sources said.
Entwistle’s new look was greeted with jeers from fellow inmates – and soon by the revelation that the joke was on him, sources said.
Asked recently about Entwistle’s jailhouse humiliation, defense attorney Elliot Weinstein – who has since undergone cancer surgery – declined to comment. Diane Wiffin, spokeswoman for the Department of Correction, said she was prohibited by law from commenting.
Entwistle is in the same unit where, in August 2003, white supremacist Joseph Druce strangled to death child-molesting former priest John J. Geoghan, 68.
Druce’s easy access to Geoghan – and his ability to jam the cell shut during his cold-blooded murder – prompted a series of reforms to the unit.
Leslie Walker, executive director of Massachusetts Correctional Legal Services, said the highly staffed unit contains mismatched criminals who like nothing better than to turn life of the weaker inmates into a living hell.
“It’s a total code of the West,” Walker said.
