The Forever War
NYT’s Dexter Filkins has a book out, “The Forever War,” an on-the-ground grunt-level view of Iraq and Afghanistan. I just caught part of an interview on WBUR, Tom Ashbrook’s On Point. Sounded good enough that I pulled over to buy mid-show. The readings hit my adrenaline button, in any case. It’s being touted as the “Dispatches” of these modern wars. He’s certainly put in enough time with the grunts, and ground time even before 9/11 in Islamic Jihad coverage to earn a shot at that billing.
Prior re Dexter, our one degree of separation, and some extended Kashmiri blah blah blah.
