New Pak Pres = Horndog

Pakistan president Asif Ali Zardari told Palin she's gorgeous.

In the subtle, indirect language of diplomats and heads of state, Zardari remarks are the foreign policy equivalent of voulez-vous l’humma humma:

Pakistan’s recently-elected president, Asif Ali Zardari, entered the room seconds later. Palin rose to shake his hand, saying she was “honored” to meet him.

Zardari then called her “gorgeous” and said: “Now I know why the whole of America is crazy about you.”

“You are so nice,” Palin said, smiling. “Thank you.”

A handler from Zardari’s entourage then told the two politicians to keep shaking hands for the cameras.

“If he’s insisting, I might hug,” Zardari said. Palin smiled politely.

Sadly, all he seems to be getting lately are man hugs.

First commenter at CNN’s Political Ticker, presenting as female, blames the victim:

Are you kidding me? This lady is a joke!

Here’s another classy one:

Gov Palin, WHY WON’T YOU SPEAK TO THE PRESS?   September 24th, 2008 4:23 pm ET
I HAD NO IDEA THAT PIMPING STRATEGIES COULD BE USED IN THE CAMPAIGN OF THE MOST POWERFUL COUNTRY IN THE WORLD.

I’m beginning to get why Dems weren’t ready for a woman as their nominee.

Meanwhile, Couric, in a Palin badgerfest, charitably notes that McCain wanted more regulation on Fannie Mae, but demands more McCain regulationism. Because it’s all about GOP anti-regulationism. Or not.

President Zardari paid Governor Palin a compliment, which in our rigidly PC-society might be considered sexist, but was probably his attempt to make nice with the possible next Vice President of the US. It’s instructive to remember that the Muslims of Pakistan had already elected a female Prime Minister… twice.

Definitely the line of the week!
