Wrong Again
No, Barney … the conservatives haven’t been blaming poor blacks. They’ve been blaming you. Boston Herald:
U.S. Rep. Barney Frank claims some conservatives are trying to thwart new Wall Street regulation by blaming poor blacks for today’s crisis.
“This is an effort, I believe, to appeal to a kind of anger in people,” Frank, a Newton Democrat who chairs the House Financial Services Committee, told a Boston anti-foreclosure forum yesterday.
Frank charged that some Republicans attribute the mortgage mess to minority-lending laws like the Community Reinvestment Act - and, by extension, to poor blacks.
“The bizarre notion that the CRA . . . somehow is the cause of the whole problem, (some conservatives) don’t mind that,” the lawmaker said. “In the wake of the affordable-housing goals of Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac (and) the CRA, they get to take shots at poor people. And let’s be honest, the fact that some poor people are black doesn’t hurt, either, from their standpoint.”
Frank said he’s seeing “a coordinated campaign going on now, led by the right wing” to defeat tougher Wall Street rules in the meltdown’s wake.
The lawmaker claimed conservative lobbyist Grover Norquist and others are pulling out all stops to prevent Democrats from overhauling financial-services regulations next year.
Frank told the Herald that, while he doesn’t think all conservatives blame blacks for today’s mess, “I believe that for some of them, there’s a racial element that makes this a juicier target.”
I dunno, at last check it was the lefties who were the slavering race-baiters. Chalk up another one.
Anyway, here are some of those conservative blamegamers Barney’s talking about. Blaming him, for victimizing blacks and everyone else with yet another misguided affirmative action scheme that didn’t do anyone any favors.

This is a wonderful example of how Democrats are so quick to take full responsibility during times of crises. Thankfully, that dastardly bad man George W. Bush, who always plays the blame game and never tries to actually change the world in a good way such as by destroying evil regimes or donating tons of money to Africa to help with the AIDS crisis, will soon be out of office.

I used to respect Barney Frank for being open about being gay. This bit has flushed the last shred of that down the toilet. Now I think he’s just another ultra-liberal do-gooder who actually does more harm than good, and who is desperately and dishonestly trying to rescue his reputation.

This is rich, coming from a politician who was literally in bed with a Fannie Mae executive, Herb Moses, during the years when many of the seeds were sown that have borne such bitter fruit this fall:

Barney Frank needs to be shamed out of public life for his part in making this mess. Unfortunately, he’s shameless, and the MSM outlets on which most voters rely for information will continue to bury the truth about him.
