Busted!

“New” Kim photos at least a couple of months old. It’s the foliage. Bungled photoprop raises speculation you know who won’t be down to kimchee, if not now, then soon. UK Telegraph:
North Korea’s KCNA news agency reported last week that Mr Kim attended a football match in Pyongyang and 10 photos have since been shown of the man known as the “Dear Leader” visiting a women’s artillery unit. Significantly, the reports did not say when the photos were taken.
“Those photos were more damaging because it is well into autumn in North Korea now and the trees in the background clearly have summer foliage,” said Toshimitsu Shigemura, a professor of international relations at Tokyo’s Waseda University.
“This just goes to show how very ill he is,” he said.
Ha! I’m guessing some low-level NK propagandists are in big trouble for bollixing the big lie. Couldn’t find season-appropriate file shots? Next time, put him inside and PhotoShop today’s copy of the Pyongyang Picayune or Joyous Workers Daily Juche Idea into his hands, you dopes.
Mr Kim is believed to have suffered a stroke in August and has failed to appear for celebrations marking two red-letter days in the country’s calendar, most recently Friday’s anniversary of the founding of North Korea’s communist party.
That has inevitably led to speculation about who is in control in Pyongyang and the identity of the next North Korean leader.
“There is a power struggle going on now over his successor and articles that have appeared in the official newspaper there, the Rodong Sinmun, I read as preparing the people for the death of Kim,” he said.
There are several factions jockeying for power. One group remains loyal to Mr Kim and his dynasty; another faction backs various other successors; and a third group favours a politburo approach to running the country.

What about the faction that points to South Korea and says “Why don’t we try what they’re doing? Look what they’re having for dinner tonight! Mmmmm, I can smell it from here…”

It’s clear that whoever ends up in power, they’ll still cling to it the old-fashioned communist way, but we can hope the next Dear Leader won’t be an eraser-headed lunatic.

Hang on. I thought he fell on a Prussian helmet a couple of years ago?
