Life Imitates TPM

Actually, it’s more like ACORN imitates TPM.

St. Pete Times: ACORN registers Mickey Mouse to vote.

TPM’s Josh Marshall: “If I successfully register Mickey Mouse to vote, on election day, Mickey Mouse will still be a cartoon character who cannot go to the local voting station and vote.”

Maybe … though the dead have been voting in droves in Houston. But who would have thought they’d actually try?

It’s worth noting that in Florida, Mickey Mouse is in fact a living, breathing entity, available for photo ops even he lacks vote eligibility, and poll workers have been known to be less discerning than desireable in a key swing state.

Marshall, hoisted by reality’s petard, denounces the shameless … GOP scoundrelism!

Josh Marshall is an idiot. If somebody can get Mickey Mouse registered, then they can also get Crystal Dunham, Franklin Rhodes, Susanne Nelson, Terrell Briggs, and Moshe Jarshall registered. Those are all names I just made up, and none of the workers at the polling station would they were fake. Most states require very minimal identification when voting because the courts have thrown out more stringent rules, so it’s easily done.

I could make some lame joke about never going to Disneyworld again if Mickey Mouse ends up voting for Obama, but the truth is, nothing about this is funny.

  3. Michael Lonie Says:

I don’t see why Mickey Mouse can’t vote once registered (and how many states will he be registered in?) Send him an absentee ballot (address the local office of ACORN) and Mickey sends it back with a vote for Obama on it, plus a write in of William Ayers for school commissiioner.
