Awwwww …

SPOOKY: An eighth grader’s...

More great holiday decorations, this time from Newton, Mass., which if you’re not familiar with it is part of the Cambridge Triangle … Cambridge, Newton, Brookline … a sort of Volvo zone where people’s common sense, free speech rights, that kind of thing, mysteriously drop off the radar screen. Boston Herald:

A children’s Halloween window painting contest in Newton may have some Republicans on edge after a restaurant window was decorated with tombstones engraved with the names of John McCain, Sarah Palin and President Bush.

The eye-catching painting, on the window of the Sabra restaurant on Union Street, depicts a pumpkin-headed Barack Obama walking past the tombstones saying “Change.”

Restaurant owner Elie Saroufim said the student who created the display was an eighth-grader taking part in the city’s annual Halloween painting contest, which is organized by the Newton Pride Committee and is open to children in Grades 3 through 8.

Saroufim said he had not received any complaints and could not see how the painting could cause offense.

“It is just something from a child’s imagination,” he said.

The Newton Pride Committee was unavailable for comment last night.

So cute, when kids think globally, act locally. It’s a good thing little Johnny isn’t one of Newton’s three closet Republicans. If he did a Fannie Mae Halloween theme with Barney Frank on one of those tombstones, he’d be up on hate crime charges. Or, Gaia-forbid, if Obama was planted in one of those graves … that’s a middle-school lynching! Because Newton is no place for hate …

Speaking of hate, somebody needs to tell that restaurant owner about Obama’s Jew-baiting minister and the candidate’s eagerness to make nice with some mullahs who want to glass over Ya Israel. Shalom!

In prior affirmative hate speech, One Man’s Thought-Provocation …

WSJ: Obama’s “Redistribution” Constitution, or why the moonbat candidate’s dangerous fringe America-hating radicalism matters.

TNR’s The Plank: Ridiculousness about redistribution. 2001 remarks just echo what paleo-cons have said about limits on the court’s role.

It is true that Obama supports the Earned Income Tax Credit (an idea pioneered by Republicans). It is also true that Obama supports the minimum wage. It is true too that Obama is centrally concerned with decent education for all — and the right to education was at stake in perhaps the most important case that Obama is discussing. It is true, finally, that Obama wants to make health care available for all. But it is truly ridiculous to take Obama’s remarks in 2001 as suggesting that the nation should embark on a large-scale redistributive scheme.

Uh … Susstein’s got a point. Sounds so reasonable. You really need to take his 2008 “wealth-sharing” remarks, his tax plans, and … pretty much the rest of 20 years worth of Obamism and Obamist associations to fully grasp the large-scale national redistributive scheme.

Investor’s Business Daily: About that wealth redistribution, investors flee from “change” Obama hypes.

“Our practice is when someone is thrust quickly into the public spotlight, we often take a look” at them, Jones-Kelley said, citing a case where a lottery winner was found to owe past-due child support. “Our practice is to basically look at what is coming our way.”

Let a hundred flowers bloom! Seriously, though, Citizen Joe’s chat with Obama was like Megabucks for the McCain camp. Fair game.

The use of a state computer system to search for information on Wurzelbacher is the fourth uncovered by The Dispatch.

Democrat Gov. Ted Strickland is satisfied that there are no political overtures to the check on Wurzelbacher, a spokesman said.

Once you get past the naked Obamism, that is. via Hotair, which informs we might as well pack it in, Obama’s ascendence is “pre-deortained.”

Either that or it isn’t. Surber’s got more poll tightening.

Seems like a good place to sign off with some light viewing from the Ministry of Truth.

Heh. I kind of like that painting. The double standard is annoying as always, though.
