Dire portents! Bile in the entrails! Cow born with three heads, crows seen falling from the sky! Woe and lamentation! Gallup’s final: 55-45:
PRINCETON, NJ — The final Gallup 2008 pre-election poll — based on Oct. 31-Nov. 2 Gallup Poll Daily tracking — shows Barack Obama with a 53% to 42% advantage over John McCain among likely voters. When undecided voters are allocated proportionately to the two candidates to better approximate the actual vote, the estimate becomes 55% for Obama to 44% for McCain.

Yeah, well that’s so last three days ago … with an equal apportionment of independents and everyone who says they’re voting for Obama voting for Obama. They still haven’t polled the one person that matters. No, not this skinny lady:

READY TO ROAR!!
Thanks Drudge. I’m talking about the fat lady. Save your gnashing of teeth and rending of garments and/or wild exultation and celebratory car torching till she yodels.
There’s also the awkward issue of what I’m going to have to call statistically significant wild divergence in polling. I hate to express any doubts in the august science of measuring public opinion, but I get a bit of a global warming consensus feel off of this. I don’t like to get into inconvenient facts and recent history, but if the polls hold true and the Dems actually win this one, it will be a major feather in the cap of some chicken-gut reader. Whichever one of these was actually even close:
RCP average gives Obama a 6.9-point lead for Obama, off a range of 2 to 13:

It ain’t looking too good pollwise. We could be looking at four years of an ultra-leftist president, with the Democrat loons having solid majorities in both houses of Congress…and that would be a real bad thing.
Pray for a miracle.
