More Recriminations

This time from P.J. O’Rourke at the Weekly Standard, who kicks off today’s quick lefty/righty roundup by leveling a flamethrower at several generations of Republicans.

O’Rourke makes some points, but seems to suffer from the very Democratic view that everything should be knowable in advance, executed with judicious hindsight, denounced if it encountered problems, and subject to ideological purity standards, especially where Republicans are concerned. And that northeastern elites should keep their country cousins off the nice furniture. He’s also suffering from a little longwindedness.

On the other side of the ledger, here’s Margery Eagan denouncing ODS. Free speech lives at the Boston Herald, right-wing tabloid.

Meanwhile, in lefty recrimination news, WSJ’s Political Diary suggests Obama may have figured out how useless Pelosi and Reid are, and hired their own gun, Emanuel, to point that out and head them off at the pass. Anyone who thinks that means anyone’s governing from the center is refered to Obama’s quick fix plans below.

Polman at Phil Inqy also is pushing the line that Obama will be a centrist.

We close with more humor. Nobel Laureate/Prohpet Al Gore on the ascendacy of the Messiah. First walk-on-water act must be to turn back the tide.

I guess Elmer Gore isn’t through squeezing the last dimes out of nervous old ladies and clueless college students yet.
