Pious Insufferability

Emerges as a key theme in Obama transition plans. US News

Al Gore might be under consideration for a “climate czar” position; Colin Powell could be education secretary; Howard Dean might get health and human services; Robert F. Kennedy Jr. might be the head of the Environmental Protection Agency; and Caroline Kennedy could be the ambassador to the United Nations. It’s just an unofficial guide but a fun one to follow.

The Screamer tops HHS. The Back Bencher tops State. Career mountebank Richard Clarke is even under consideration at DHS.  One bright spot is Larry Summers, under consideration at Treasury, which is astonishing given his hate-speech crimes. You’ll recall he was hounded out of Harvard for suggesting that a variety of possible root causes be considered in addition to discrimination as reasons for the dearth of women in maths and sciences; for questioning the academic value of rap music, praising military service and audacious reforms such as asking that professors eschew nonsense and politics, teach their own classes, and be administered by the administration. He’d make a better Common Sense Czar, but that position is strangely absent on this chart. The brightest point on which is the prospect that Gates, along with most of Bush’s war policy, could stay. That’d be a change worth hoping for.

Welcome, Instapundit etal. Always so good to see you. Come on in. If you like pious insufferability, you’re going to love Obama’s War On Terrorizing. What the heck. Voters get what voters deserve.

Al Gore as Climate Czar. Robert Kennedy as head of the EPA. Well, Barry wanted a “voluntary” national civilian community service corps, what better way to fill the ranks than with Climate Police?

Obama’s terrorizing of the citizenry, you mean? I’d say these loons heading up these depts and agencies will be the biggest case of the law of unintended consequences. Except I think Obama means every bit of those consequences.
