Not exactly what we consider to be within the bounds of free speech in this country, Bill Ayers’ take on that notwithstanding. Unclear how it’s going over in Iraq, though the report of the shoe chucker being dragged off screaming suggests Iraqis also view the throwing of objects at foreign dignitaries as inappropriate behavior. Bit of a violation of the Arab hospitality thing.
I’m pretty sure no one, including this ill-mannered lout of a scribbler, ever did that to Saddam. Not counting when they did it to that statue Bush knocked down.
Think Progress, strangely uncelebratory, rounds it up with vid. Then again, a lot of progressives are probably ready to throw their shoes at Obama. The gals at Firedoglake, if they had the stones, for example. Shoe-tosser Zaidi’s their “hero.” Newspig snarks it up but lacks the bacon to call the guy a hero. Hey, you think with Obama’s new neocon act, any of these people are going to start throwing shoes at him? Nah … that would require the strength of their own convictions. These people can’t even organize a surrender.

NEWS FLASH: Instaputz gets it! No one ever did this to Saddam because he would be killed! Instaputz … good name, by the way … needs help with the Ayers part. It’s like this. Ayers thinks bombs = free speech, or at least wants us to believe that. That’s also sarcasm. OK, let’s walk through this. No, bombs aren’t shoes, and shoes aren’t bombs. Very good. But throwing shoes is violent, as well as crass. Probably not defensible as free speech in a court of law. Any more than Ayers’ idea of bombs as speech is defensible to anyone with any common sense. Re the numbers Bush killed, someone tell Putz the Lancet report was made up. Also, the most enthusiastic killer of civilians in Iraq was al Qaeda. That’s why the Iraqi insurgents stopped fighting Americans and joined with them to start fighting al Qaeda. Thanks for the headsup on the typo, though.

The Iraqi was quite disingenuous, first he was a Baathi, he would have never dared doing such during Saddam. He and his whole family would have been tortured and killed. If he had any women especially young girls, Saddam sons would raped them first, then either throw them in the human shredder, or give them to their pet lions.
On the other hand, Our President, the real Gentleman, and a man with great reflexes.
If we really had media with true grit, would have noted, Iraqis were being killed by terrorists, and are still being killed by Arabs, screaming strangely enough “Alah-o-Akbar”, God is Great!
