Elusive Political Progress Spotted

In “smoothest yet” Iraqi election. AP notes turnout high in Sunni areas that boycotted the polls in the past, lower in the Shiite south. AP notes that Iraq’s voter reg process is a holdover from the kite-flying Saddam era. No mention of the war criminal Bush or other indicators of how this remarkable outcome was achieved … the new routine of Iraqi democracy. Looks like his name is being chiseled off all monuments to political progress and stability in Iraq.

Hang on, Obama gives credit where credit is due … the United NationsKate notices that the great communicator to Muslims can’t be bothered to make a big effort on this one. Newsweek’s on-the-ground notes make reference to some foreign military presence in the capital.

Good job, Obama, dissing our troops like that. Especially since the UN had nearly nada to do with the successes in Iraq.
