The Last Honest Reporter In Washington

Gets the bum’s rush from the Secret Service after jumping the ropeline at the White House to get an autograph, to just be closer. Politico. The unidentified scribbler loved too much? ‘Tis better to have loved and lost credentials …  UPDATED*

A reporter was escorted out of a White House event by Secret Service agents on Wednesday afternoon after he approached President Obama to seek an autograph.

At the end of an East Room signing ceremony for legislation funding the State Children’s Health Insurance Program, an unidentified member of the media jumped the rope penning off reporters from invited guests in an apparent attempt to get Obama’s autograph, according to a White House aide.

Secret Service agents swooped in and stopped him.

The Obama aide said the man was held by Secret Service—but he was later seen in the White House press briefing room under escort of a White House press aide, apparently to retrieve personal belongings and make his way out of the complex.

Secret Service agents were later seen examining the journalist’s drivers’ license, which suggests he was not a holder of a so-called hard pass, which are given to journalists permanently cleared to enter the White House complex.

The professionals, if they can’t quite mask the long loving glances, know enough to deny the fawning adoration that dare not speak its name.

Meanwhile, no one’s ever accused the AP of insufficient Obamadoration, but business is business. The court postermaker for Messiah, whose lawyers are seeking to control the use of his presidential likeness, is dunned by the AP for ripping off AP’s famous Messiah-like image of his likeness! Truly Shakespearean. It’s a Comedy of Airs. Lady MacP wants her pound of flesh. Surber:

Kind of puts Snapped Shot in exalted company. AP reports on itself here. The Obamists apparently are putting several degrees of separation between themselves and their hireling.

* UPDATE. Turns out it was love after all. Love of his son. Politico:

An official familiar with the incident identified the journalist involved as Robert Feuereisen of Jewish World Review, a New York-based Web site which features primarily conservative Jewish writers …

The editor of the Web site, Binyamin Jolkovsky, confirmed to Politico that Feuereisen gathers information for the site and that he was the journalist who asked for Obama’s autograph Wednesday.

Feuereisen’s 12-year-old son had bought an inaugural magazine of some sort for $8, and “his kid just drove him crazy,” said Jolkovsky. The editor said Feuereisen has been working in the White House for more than 10 years, and did not lose his credential in the incident, but received a warning not to do it again. “He’s harmless, to put it mildly,” the editor said.

Awwwwwww.

well, would you believe it, WordPress gave me a “password” along with a “Username”, and I hope it will work, although you should see the “password”, it looks like one of those strings of letters and numbers in a Donald Duck comic book, used to denote swearing….

Obama’s problems are mounting. The latest is he believes that if the Spending Package is not passed IMMEDIATELY the seas will rise and the USA is doooommmmmed FOREVER. Thanks gracious for Hope and Change and Obama.
