EGreggious Egress

Obama’s economic stimulation was too much for Gregg, he’s out for Commerce. Quick egress, and a smart move. Who would want to be a part of Obama’s personal Katrina?  You know, a major disaster exacerbated by vile Democratic corruption, bad Democratic policy, and worse Democratic responses.

Meanwhile, Andrew Sullivan is having a case of the vapors because the GOP thinks Obama’s plan stinks.

This much is now clear. Their clear and open intent is to do all they can, however they can, to sabotage the new administration (and the economy to boot). They want failure. Even now. Even after the last eight years. Even in a recession as steeply dangerous as this one. There are legitimate debates to be had; and then there is the cynicism and surrealism of total political war. We now should have even less doubt about what kind of people they are. And the mountain of partisan vitriol Obama will have to climb every day of the next four or eight years.

Never mind that Obama, while claiming to reach out to the GOP, vacillated between ignoring them and insulting them. That’s beside the point, and irrelevant to the substance of the matter. I guess it shouldn’t be surprising that someone who was swept away by the partisan vitriol of the last several years, and sided with the people who attempted to substitute their political agenda for vital national security interests and moral concerns, should now be outraged that other people are objecting to a high-priced political agenda unconvincingly labelled “economic stimulus plan.”

Malkin offers measured praise.

Gateway bulldozes Obama on his Caterpillar jobs promise. Meanwhile, Congress fails to not prevaricate on its promise to post the bill online for 48 hours prior to the vote.

Surber totes it up on the Daily Scoreboard. Also notes that while we may get fooled again, that’s same as it ever was.

The foul-mouthed communications instructor also blogging as Balloon-Juice is convinced Gregg’s pull out is an anti-Obamist plot. How could anyone not want to be associated with that trainwreck?

Ah, for the good old days when dissent was patriotic, and criticizing the administration was speaking truth to power.

The same people who howled in full-out, hysterical, BDS mode for eight years are now going to rally around and protect their delicate flower Obama from the “viciousness” of the Vast Right Wing Conspiracy. After a while, sensible people who might be leaning left, might want to reconsider. Gregg was exercising a survival tactic.

Aren’t the protectors going to be surprised to find out that the VRWC includes folks who voted for the inexperienced young man.
