Obama reportedly is looking at giving the Russians what they want … no missile shield … if the Russians will help out with Iran on nukes. Novosti:
In an interview on Sunday with Spanish media, Medvedev said he hoped to discuss the issue of missile defense with Obama in London. He also said he hoped the new U.S. administration would display a “more creative approach” to the issue than its predecessors.
“We have received signals from our American colleagues,” Medvedev said. “I expect those signals will turn into specific proposals. I hope to discuss the issue, which is extremely important for Europe, with U.S. President Barack Obama.”
I dunno. A “more creative approach” sounds like Kremlinspeak for “lose the missile shield, cough up some stimulus.” But here, translate it yourself and tell me:
потеряйте экран реактивного снаряда, закашляйте вверх некоторый стимул.
The Russians of course are selling nuke stuff to Iran. They also share with Iran an interest in making the United States look bad and even better, an interest in a weakened United States that would be less of a damned nuisance. So horse-trading with them on Iran could be interesting. Sounds like it could work a lot like the nuke deals with North Korea. We give them what they want. They get what they want. Then, they do a grab back on whatever they might have given us. And we give them more. It’s a *win-win. For them.
Gateway’s got your surrender vid.
Oh no, awkwardness. LA Times: Hillary tells the UAE FM in a private meeting at Sharm el-Sheikh that diplomacy isn’t going to solve the Iranian problem. That was a big one for the boss. LA Times says Hill’s pained admission indicates it might be time to move to the next stage. Doesn’t say exactly what that is … immediate capitualtion? But also says the Obamists may be forced to press ahead with “diplomatic and economic pressures begun by the Bush admin.” That’s ridiculous. Everyone knows the Bush admin didn’t practice diplomacy. That said, pressing ahead with Bush measures so far has been the only viable course in foreign policy, though it hasn’t stopped Obama from announcing a “Mission Not Exacly Accomplished” Iraq withdrawal and offering to underwrite Hamas to the tuen of several hundred million dollars.

It’s sad to think that Amateur Hour in Foggy Bottom will last four more years. At least.
That said, Obama is trying to pay Danegeld, and anyone who reads history knows how well that works. So, clearly, Obama should have studied history while working for that degree in Community Organizing.
Or was that a law degree? After all this Hope And Change™, does it matter?

It’s worse than Amateur Hour. It’s complete, disastrous incompetence. Who knew that even a Chicago politician would have so little spine?

Yeah, Rebecca. Who knew?
Hail, Obama The Invertebrate!
