Under The ‘Bus

Washington Post, cleverly, notes the Flat Tires on the Omnibus:

THE CONGRESSIONAL budget process — and process is an awfully polite word for the current chaos — gets uglier and uglier. The $410 billion omnibus spending bill that is crawling to final passage and an unenthusiastic signature comes nearly halfway through the fiscal year. It covers spending for pretty much the entire domestic side of the government — yet none of the nine bills merged into the single giant package were ever considered on the floor of the House or Senate. President Obama’s not-my-problem stance may be canny politics: Why put any political capital into this one when there are so many other difficult fights to come? But his asserted stance that this is, in the words of White House Chief of Staff Rahm Emanuel, “last year’s business,” borders on irresponsible. This may be last year’s business, but Mr. Obama is this year’s president.

Sounds like someone’s throwing his most deeply held campaign convictions under the Omnibus … along with traditional American presidential buck stoppage. Either that or he’s holding true to his practice of expecting other people to take responsibility for everything. Everything he doesn’t want to take credit for, anyway. I guess a more positive view is the campaign goes on … he’s still giving people reason to hope for change.

well, darned if Word Press let me log in!!

Anyway, as I watch my retirement money melt (and Canada is in the best situation of all the G7s), I have to laugh. This is, really a comedy. A community organizer, who never worked more than 3 or 4 hours per day in his coddled life is surprised – amazed – by HOW MUCH WORK THERE IS FOR THE PRESIDENT OF THE MOST POWERFUL COUNTRY IN TODAY’S WORLD!!!

Of course, after 4 years of this, the USA will not be the most powerful, wealthiest country in today’s world, unless, of course, the other countries sink faster and farther, so we are all kind of like even-steven in 2012 (if you follow me??)

By the way, you are kind of related to David Frum, aren’t you? What has happened to the man? He sounds like a downtown Toronto Liberal for gracious sakes.
