A Nation’s Loss
Broder: Dissing my Israel-bashing, China-loving breakfast pal was a grievous error. Your loss, America. (With slightly unhinged-looking Freeman art).
Andrew Sullivan likes the part where Broder likes how Freeman understands how our adversaries think. Sullivan tuts:
But some opinions - those that might actually see how the US-Israel alliance looks to all those countries we need to engage diplomatically - are just not allowed.
Maybe. Then there is thinking like our adversaries think, and accepting it as an excuse for their actions. Goldfarb at Weekly Standard picks through the latest Obama appointment trainwreckage. Better get off the tracks. You know what they say. There’s always another train coming.

Freeman, by Broder: “As a young man fluent in Mandarin, …” K Rudd????
Also: “… after adding Arabic to his repertoire of languages, was sent to Saudi Arabia as ambassador just before the Persian Gulf War.” Interesting, because it would appear that the Saudis prefer US ambassadors who do not speak Arabic.
Cheers

Yeah, Jules. I think maybe there’s an eeeeeevil Zionist mole on the staff who chose that photo just to illustrate what might-have-been looks like.

Maybe those who see how the US-Israel “alliance” looks to other countries just don’t care about the alternative — given that an “alternative alliance” with those offended countries don’t gain us anything.

Why should we care about the nation of Saudi Arabia’s loss?
