They wanted you know how much alike they are … right down to the tin ear, as it turns out.
Massachusetts Gov. Deval Patrick, when asked by an ink-stained wretch in a State House presser how he summons the gall to shake down the citizenry for more $$$ while lavishing pay raises on hacks and cronies, says he concentrates on what’s “meaningful” and lets “the trivial take the back seat.” Boston Herald.
He’s got a point. I’d call a $100,000 pay raise … or even a paltry $26,000 sweetener for a $97,000 do-nothing job … pretty meaningful.
