So We Finally Get A French President Who’s More Or Less Onside*
And Obama tries to see if he can piss him off. Gateway and No Pasaran do the honors on Obama’s weird letter to former French president Jacques Chirac, praising his obstructionism re Iraq and adding:
’I am certain that we will be able to work together, in the coming four years, in a spirit of peace and friendship to build a safer world.’
I find it encouraging that he didn’t write “in the coming eight years.” Partnering for peace with a French ex-president pretty much blows the bottom out of the cluemeter. That thing’s broke. So Obama’s got big plans for the United States and the Jacques Chirac Foundation for Sustainable Development and Cultural Dialogue? Interesting.
OK, another one for the growing stack for cataloguing in The Obama Presidential Gaffe Repository. Hey, can we get some stimulus bucks for staff, maybe some bailout bonus money? It’s job creation. No? What if we call it the Edward M. Kennedy Obama Presidential Gaffe Repository? It’s more than shovel-ready. I can barely keep up with the pile.
* Sarkozy brings France back into NATO’s military command, pissing off large parts of France. Doesn’t look like Sark’s keen to pitch in more in Afghanistan, though. Washington Times.

Ya know, it’s be nice to be able to believe that there are some adults left in the West Wing, but I just can’t envision that.
We are so terribly screwed.
Didn’t anyone actually tell the “lightworker” that he was, you know, IN CHARGE?
Clueless, thy name is Obama.

“I find it encouraging that he didn’t write “in the coming eight years.” ”
Given his history, I find it encouragint that he didn’t say, “in the coming eight to ten years.”

We don’t plan to travel outside the US for at least the next four years. We couldn’t stand the humiliation.
