KindleNacht
Althouse, rounds up the bizarre turn the free speech case, Citizens United vs. Federal Election Commission took into book-banning arguments, with a Kindle review/1st Amendment argument. That’s different, but we’re living in different times.* Sounds a little like the United States, such as the United States is currently comprised, is grasping a little in its desire to control pre-vote thought and speech.
Speaking of the Supreme Court, reading and speech, here’s the learned Althouse on Barney Frank’s “homophobe” attack on Scalia the other day. Althouse’s review: Read more, not less, citizen Barney!
With a nod to Reynolds.
* Read ‘em while you got ‘em. Prior Kindle reviews here, wrapped in a newspaper survival debate. What is it about Kindle that it keeps popping up in the fundamental issues of our day? I dunno, I just like selling the things. That, and I want to remain employed in the scribbling arts for the next 30-odd years. That, and I want to remain free to whack pols at will, in any venue, for any reason, whenever I like. Pretty base motivation, I guess.
Topics: free speech, pols
