Spanish Inquisition
Eyeballs Bush admin lawyers for war crimes charges. NY Times. Gutless as usual. If I were a Spanish taxpayer, I’d be getting annoyed with the waste of my money about now, but then, if I was a Spanish voter, odds are I’d be a socialist.
The Spanish Inquistion ain’t what it used to be. I’d have more respect if the Spanish courts actually went after Bush, or maybe Obama, for adopting Bush policies, instead of Bush minions. I’d have more respect if the Spanish courts were more interested in al Qaeda. If they want to engage in grandiose theatrical performances, how about indictments on Osama bin Laden, etal. Maybe they did that, and I missed the international headlines. How about an indictment on Zapatero for cowardice in the face of the enemy? You remember, when al-Qaeda killed 191 of his fellow citizens because Spain had troops in Iraq, and he responded by pulling out.
By the way, Yoo, Gonzalez, I wouldn’t sweat it. Spanish judges talk a big game but tend to wienie out in the end. Ask these jihadis. Ask my tanker pals, accused of murder for a mistake in the midst of battle. Charges ultimately dropped.
