Last Word Re The Bowing, Scraping
Not yet heard. Powerline notes the Obama admin, in the form of a dismissive White House spokesgaffer Gibbs, has “Moved On” from the bowing incident it claims never happened. Powerline also notes that these kinds of signs are taken seriously in the Middle East, where we’ve already seen the “like us better” overture, or posture malfunction, whatever it was, was welcomed as a sign of respect.
Wanna bet al-Qaeda hasn’t moved on? Look for the mocking vid on your president’s self-abasement before a foreign potentate to come to a jihadi website or Middle Eastern cable news service near you. I’m guessing the storyline will be something about the House Negro’s sign of fealty to the apostate Zionist-lickspittle Crusader-lackey king.
Riehl: 2010! Handcuff him politically before he bends over again!
Weekly Standard: Bravo to the media for finally averting its eyes from Palin’s daughter’s ex-boyfriend! (In fairness, the Press Corps did extensively cover the big international relations fiasco also known as the G20 summit, gavel-to-gavel, they just inexplicably didn’t give a damn about Obama bending at the waist before a king. The Press Corps did note in passing, however, that despite all the charism-induced better-likement, the rest of the world isn’t inclined to do a damned thing in our mutual self-defense and the furtherance of freedom.)
Hey, WS says, they’d have been all over Bush about this.
Cue in Huffington Post: How dare they expect us to bash Obama after failing to Bash bush themselves for the kind of thing we’d have been bashing the daylights out of Bush about! … It’s double-reverse indignation, with new, improved irony.
(FYI, Huff-poster, the right has long bashed the Bushes re Saudi proximity, including the handholding. It is also noteworthy that the Bush admin leaned on the Saudis and got them headed in the right direction re financing of terrorism, and killing/capture of al-Qaeda in Arabia.)
Ouch. In a related, not so different smackdown, Rove tells Biden the self-aggrandizing exaggeration is unbecoming a vice-president. via Gateway.

I never approved of the “House Negro” business, but if ever Obama deserved that sobriquet, it was the moment he bowed to the Saudi king. Whatever “respect” he thought he was signalling to the Muslim world contains a healthy dose of submissiveness in their eyes. Since Obama claims to know so much about that world, he should have known that much. The man truly is clueless.
